Leider wird auch das Firmen nicht davon abhalten, weiterhin..auf Microschrott-Software zu setzen. Es ist einfach nur krass, wie der Laden sich alles erlauben kann, nur weil sie das Monopol haben. Da haben Banken strengste Sicherheitsrichtlinien und verbieten fast alles an Software, was man sich zum Arbeiten wünscht, aber hier bleiben die Grenzen offen. Ich bezweifle, dass sich das ändern wird. „Wir haben menschliche Prüfer, die Regelverstöße überprüfen und bestätigen, welche Maßnahmen ergriffen werden. Diese Leute können auf bestimmte Arten von Schäden spezialisiert sein oder die arbeiteten an einem bestimmten Dienst.“

Es kann einfach nicht sein, dass man auf Betriebssystem Level so ausspioniert wird. Meiner Meinung nach muss das Betriebssystem unabhängig und non-profit sein. Leider ist Linux oder BSD noch nicht da wo es sein muss, aber es ist eindeutig die wünschenswerte Zukunft.

Es wird Zeit, dass auch viele Softwarehersteller anfangen primär Linuxversionen ihrer Programme rauszubringen. Ich beschäftige mich mit 3D Modellierung und CGI, Blender is da schon lange die OpenSource Go-To Lösung. Ein paar andere weigern sich immer noch… Dann gibt es aber sogar noch einige wirkliche Industriestandards, wie Houdini und Substance Painter die bereits Linuxversionen haben. Bei Games scheint es seit einiger zeit auch endlich mal weiterzugehen (thx to Valve und Proton (auch wenn ich deren Steam DRM ned so toll finde)).

Windows 10 und Windows 11, jeweils ohne Konto, fallen nicht unter den Servicevertrag.
Die Kontrolle findet dann auch auf Linux Systemen statt, die Ms Produkte (wie z.B. Teams) nutzen.“

Der Ansatz mit „dann suche ich mir was anderes“ ist zwar lobenswert, aber mit moderner Hardware kaum mehr zu machen. Wie du schon sagst, kannst du teilweise auf Hardware kein Linux installieren, weil das Bios das nicht erlaubt. Daher, wenn eine so große Firma so einen Blödsinn baut, muss man sie vor EU Gericht ziehen und wegen DSGVO Verstoß belangen. 4% vom Jahresumsatz tun denen auch richtig weh…“

Bin auch vor kurzem komplett auf Arch Linux umsteigen und mein Workflow ist einfach mal so viel geiler als unter Windows als Entwickler. Und zum Thema Hardware und Games keine Probleme gehabt dank Valve, Wine, Flatpak und DXVK funktioniert alles mit kleinen wenig Konfiguration natürlich. Die Sache mit der Chatkontrolle betrefft mich auch weil ich viele Google-Diensten nutze.

PhotoDNA is leider nicht quelloffen, aber soweit ich es verstehe benutzen sie perceptual hashing (was im gegensatz zu ’normalem‘ hashing bei kleinen veraenderungen im bild einen aehnlichen hash erzeugt). mit dem laesst sich die „distanz“ zwischen originalbild und modifizierter version (z.b. beschnitten, farben angepasst) bestimmen. je kleiner die distanz desto aehnlicher das bild.

Ja die Überwachung nimmt einfach extrem zu. Aber leider ist man teilweise dauerhaft von Microsoft abhängig. Ich bin Hobby Musik-Produzent, Zocke gerne mal das eine oder andere Spiel. Meine Musik-Software und die VST´s sind alle nicht mit Linux kompatibel…aber ich werde mir in Zukunft auf jeden Fall noch einen zweit-PC mit Linux aufsetzen, wo ich dann meine Programmierungen, Texte schreiben usw. mache.

Ein echtes On-The-Fly Trojaner.Rootkit in 2012 (Zero.Access), ein CIA/NSA-Exploit mit Trojanisierung des BIOS über Facebook 2017 und der letzte Angriff auf meine Homepage war im Dezember 2020 (Bajatax.Exploit)….sonst ZERO NULL NADA. Das erste BIOS-Rootkit 2005, wahrscheinlich DOD/NSA. BND-Trojaner 2006 namens OPUS. Diverse DoD/U.S. und Russen-Attacken zwischen 2005-2012. 90% bis 95% kommt von den Behörden/Militär und Geheimdiensten selbst. Über EBay war mal noch was 2020, eine Festplattenzerstörung, wahrscheinlich CIA-Proxy. Seitdem NULL.

Eigentlich ist es eher so, dass heutzutage der Großteil des Internetverkehrs über diese großen Anbieter mit ihren Diensten läuft, es ist wie eine Monopolisierung. Viele Leute können nicht mal einen links handisch eingeben, weil sie dann denken sie begeben sich sonstwohin. Weil sie es sonst gewohnt waren nur auf Social Media Seiten umherzuklicken.

Mit dem Release von Windows XP im Jahre 2001 gab es bereit OTA Updates. 2010 wäre ein bisschen spät gewesen 😉 Außerdem wurde der IE hauptsächlich von Firefox abgelöst. Und man sollte den Übergang von Modems zu modernen Routern mit Hardwarefirewall ebenfalls nicht vernachlässigen.

Zur Ergänzung: Es gibt natürlich noch diejenigen Viren, die unsere IoT-Geräte und Computer befallen, um still und unbemerkt dort zu verweilen und die Geräte als Botnetz entweder für das Crypto-Mining oder für DDoS-Angriffe zu nutzen.
Und dann natürlich die Ransomware, die komplette Festplatten verschlüsselt…

Das erste und letzte mal, wo mir ein Virus, der Lamer-Virus auf meinen Amiga, echt probleme bereitet hat, war 1989. Ich hatte mir eine schöne BBC-Software in Amiga-Basic geschrieben und lief auch ganz gut und dieser Virus hatte mir alles zerstört. Seitdem ist mir das nicht mehr passiert. 🤔

Linux hängt seit Jahren in der Entwicklung fest. Es gibt immer nur GUI-Updates, und sonst tut sich kaum was. Bis heute kann es nicht stabil mit Nvidia-Grafikkarten umgehen. Meine 5-Tasten Maus von Logitech funtioniert auch nicht voll, und für meinen Flachbettscanner gibt es auch nichts. Und durch das ständig nötige Gefrickel per Tastatur ist es eh für 90% komplett uninteressant.

Die sind total schlecht im Firewall-Segment, die besten Firewalls gibt es für Windows, da kann man auch gleich 5 gleichzeitig laufen lassen, ohne Systemkonflikte oder Abstürze.

Bei Linux muss ich mir gar keine Sorgen über Viren machen. Linux kann keine .exe-Dateien ausführen. (Außer mit Wine) und das ist standartmäsig bei Linux (Linux Mint) nicht dabei.

Die Frage am Ende ist falsch gestellt, oder? Nicht „Wann hattet ihr euren letzten Computervirus?“ sondern „Wann WUSSTET ihr das letzte Mal von einem Computervirus auf eurem PC?“. Denn ich bin überzeugt, dass 99% der „Viren“, die ich eher als „Spysoft“ bezeichnen würde, unentdeckt bleiben.

Der generelle Schutz der modernen Computer ist besser geworden. Ich habe letztes Jahr am Windows 10 Computer mein Passwort vergessen und über die Eingabeaufforderung versucht reinzukommen. Nur durch Tricks, einigen Hintertüren und Schnelligkeit konnte ich Windows Defender überlisten, welcher doch sehr reaktionsfähig war und behauptete, dass ein Trojaner sich eingenistet hätte. Hätte ich es nicht geschafft, hätte ich mir die Festplatte formatieren müssen. Natürlich habe ich vorher alle Daten gesichert, um sicher zu gehen, dass sie nicht verloren gehen, aber es war nicht notwendig.

So the question is again… why or who is lying so much … Windows 11 can run perfectly on real OLD, very OLD CPU’s, no need for TPM, SecureBoot, UEFI, etc.
And guess what … some of such OLD real hardware computers has only 2 GiB of RAM (since the installer was Windows 10 installer, there is not such 4GiB RAM minimun limit) and they can run well the Windows 11 HOME and the Windows 11 PRO over the real hardware… and guess … a clean install only uses 1.8 GiB of RAM after booted … so why on the hell that 4GiB limit?
Note all questions are to denote, that such (ALL) limitations imposed are there for no REAL reason, just to make people to buy new hardware.
The oldest computer, with 2GiB RAM (that is the max that the motherboard supports) boots in less than 3 minutes with an old rotational PATA (IDE, not SATA) 2.5 HDD of 120GiB and Windows 11 is smooth, not much more smooth than Clean Windows 10, but looks like it is a little bit faster.
I hate this ‘limitations’ imposed to just make people buy new hardware … do any one else hate them? I think all users … that is why i share my ‘tests’ …“
