An interesting question deserves an even more interesting answer. SGRA tackles this thorny issue with yogic insight from the tradition and some unexpected perspective.“
„Many cultures have had many Devas in the past and we know that now their
temples are deserted there are no pujas anymore, so what happens to a Devta when the worship stops, of course this assumes that we accept, as a heathen, pagan, kafir, polytheist, idolator, I accept the premise that Devtas are real
and valid and that not only the Hindu Devatas are real, the Devatas of other cultures and civilizations are also real.
So the yogic answer to that the yogic perspective in so far as I know what
I’ve been taught from my mentors in Yoga is that, if there is no puja
for between a period of 700 to a 1000 years. If there is no puja of that particular devta swarupa of that particular form of the deva then
it merges back into to the Parabrahman.
„There has been a little revival of the of the pujas of the worship of the old gods, a temple was recently … about 15 years back, it was made
made of wood in the old style and they consecrated it… and there was immediate thunder and lightning, so the deva responded. One of the problems with the revival … you might want to revive the gods of Egypt. I think the gods of Egypt were phenomenal, because they created a culture heaven only knows of how ancient…There are lists of Kings carved on the walls which go back to 30,000 years, ..but why would they go to all that trouble to carve it onto the wall…and the accomplishments the structures that they have built are so beyond anything that I know we all think that we understand how it’s done but and to say that the great pyramid was built in 20 years is like in my personal opinion one of the most laughable things, we wouldn’t be able to do it.. the methodology the the puja sadhana, those methodologies for the devas of Egypt were lost but it is not necessary that they are lost to the universe
somewhere in the vast multiverse there could be their worship going on there are so many many many many kinds of gods…the gods are plentiful so is the
universe the planets of the universe and the beings of the universe…mathematically it is impossible that there is no life on any other planet, the universe is so vast that it is impossible that this is the
only planet and by the yogic tradition, by the Hindu tradition there are
multiple dimensions of existence we are very clear about that there are 14
different planes of existence..“
