The term yoga has its roots in the Sanskrit word yuj, which means to yoke together, to
conjoin. Hence, yoga implies a spiritual union of the individual consciousness with the allpervading,
universal Consciousness, or Brahman, according to the Upanishads. In this way,
yoga is the empirical part of religion, says Gopi Krishna in his work, Kundalini- The Secret of
Yoga (3).
Of all the different yoga traditions and schools that developed in ancient Vedic times,
Kundalini Yoga is considered to be the most powerful and therefore, the most dangerous. It is
part of the Shaiva Tantra system.
Kundalini is considered to be a form of sacred feminine
energy that lies dormant at the base of the human spine, called mooladhara, like a serpent.
This is pure, formless energy which has immense potential if awakened. Shaiva tantra calls
this energy or ‘shakti’ Mother Divine, or formless aspect of the Goddess.
Swami Satyananda Saraswathi, a great master of Kundalini yoga and author of
Kundalini Tantra says that though you may be generally aware of what Yoga is, you require
some kind of awareness of what Tantra is in order to appreciate the mysterious working of
Kundalini yoga.
Tantra says that the range of mental experience can be broadened. With the help of the
senses, your mind can have an experience based on an object. There can be an experience
within the framework of time, space, and object, but there can also be an experience beyond
the framework of time, space, and object. The second form of experience can happen when
the present mind expands beyond its given definitions and borders, and when this experience
occurs, energy is released from yourself (Saraswati 6). This concept is the Tantric base of
Kundalini yoga.
The dormant Kundalini energy, when awakened, will rise in a spiralling motion up
through different phases in the body called ‘Chakras’. The literal meaning of ‘chakra’ is
‘circle’ but in the context of Kundalini tantra, it also connotes a vortex-like motion. There are
many chakras in a human body, but the principal ones within the body are six, and the highest
one, the seventh, is at the crown of the head.
The mind of a worldly man with base desires and passions moves in the Muladhara
and Svadhishthana Chakras or centers situated near the anus and the reproductive organ
respectively.
If one’s mind becomes purified, the mind rises to the Manipura Chakra or the center
in the navel and experiences some power and joy.
If the mind becomes more purified, it rises to the Anahata Chakra, or the center in the
heart, experiences bliss, and visualizes the effulgent form of the Ishta Devata or the tutelary
deity.
When the mind gets highly purified, when meditation and devotion become intense
and profound, the mind rises to Visuddha Chakra, or the center in the throat and experiences
more and more powers and bliss. Even when the mind has reached this center, there is a
possibility for it to come down to the lower centers.

Dabei durchleben wir verschiedene Bewusstseinszustände, streifen innerhalb des Lebens Verdunkelungen über unseren Herzen und vor allem destruktive Begrenzungen ab (eingrenzende Glaubenssätze, Überzeugungen, Weltbilder und Identifikationen) mit dem übergeordneten Endziel (ob man sich dessen bewusst ist oder nicht), wieder vollkommen zum eigenen heiligen Kern, sprich zum eigenen heiligen/heilen Selbstbild (zur Quelle) zurückkehren zu können. Der Eintritt in maximale Fülle, einhergehend mit aller Weisheit, Göttlichkeit, innerem Frieden, Einklang, Liebe, sämtlichen heiligen Fähigkeiten, einem permanent verjüngten Zustand (da es aufgrund der eigenen Reinheit bzw. des eigenen “Heil sein” keinen Grund mehr für die Aufrechterhaltung eigener Alterungsprozesse gibt), physischer Unsterblichkeit und folglich der Eintritt in eine dauerhaft geheilte Welt im Außen (eine heilige Welt – denn: Wie innen, so außen).“

What we mean by dimensions?
Dimension of a point is defined as the minimum number of coordinates that are needed to specify that point in it.
How many dimensions are there in the universe?
According to classical physics there are 3 dimensions of space; length, breadth and height and one dimension is of time. String theory requires 10 dimensions but as per M theory total no. of dimensions are 11. In Bosonic string theory spacetime is 26 dimensional.
Why we are not able to perceive higher dimensions?
Actually We might be living in higher dimensions without being aware of it. But because of the limitations of our brain and senses we may not be able to perceive them.
According to some researches extra dimensions may be „curled up“ at extremely small scales. This scale is so small that we can not see them with our experiments based on current technologies.
11 Dimensions Explained:-
0th dimension-
There is no length, no breadth and no height of an object in the zeroth dimension. Example of zeroth dimension is a point.
1st dimension
An object in first dimension has only one dimension i.e. length. A straight line is an example of first dimensional object. We can get straight line by joining two points.
2nd Dimension (2D)
Second dimensional objects also known as two dimensional or 2D objects are flat shapes. Some common examples of two dimensional shapes are squares and triangles.
3rd dimension (3D)
On adding one more dimension to 2 dimensional objects we enter into the world of three dimensions. This third dimension is of height. Therefore to represent three dimensional or 3D objects we need three coordinates length, breadth and height. Three dimensional objects are solid objects and therefore have non zero volume.
4th dimension
Time is considered the fourth dimension. A four Dimensional being can move freely in time dimension. It would have full control over time. He would be able to move in any desired direction in time; past or future.
But if we consider the fourth dimension from the geometrical point of view then hypercube is a 4 dimensional object. It is also called a tesseract. The relationship between a hypercube and a cube is same as that of cube and square. So in simple terms a hypercube or tesseract is four dimensional analog of the cube.
5th dimension
A person living in 5th dimension can control time in different ways. A fifth dimensional being can move either in past or future as per his wish. He would have all the powers that are possessed by a fourth dimensional being. But he would also be able to be present at different locations at the same time. It would also be possible for him to do many jobs and have different hobbies simultaneously.
6th dimension (Sixth Dimension)
A six dimensional being has all the powers that a person living in 5th dimension has along with some extra capabilities. But one limitation of the sixth dimension is that all the parallel universes must have the same beginning (initial conditions) that is the Big Bang.
7th dimension (Seventh Dimension)
Seventh dimension can have infinite number of universes. A seventh dimensional being can have infinite forms of itself and can move from one universe to any other universe. The 7th dimensional universes may have originated from different start conditions.
8th dimension (Eighth Dimension)
The eighth dimension has a plane of all the possible presents, pasts and futures for all the infinite number of parallel universes and all these infinite universes extend up to infinity.
9th dimension (Ninth Dimension)
Infinite number of universes exist in the ninth dimension. It is possible for the universes in the ninth dimension to have their own laws of Physics and separate conditions and probabilities of their origin.
10th dimension (Tenth dimension)
The 10th dimensional being would have infinite powers. He would be able to do the things that are beyond your imagination. He would be able to control even the spacetime and everything present in all the infinite number of universes.
11th dimension (Eleventh dimension)
Many unanswered questions were arised when the superstring theory was introduced. Therefore to answer these questions, eleventh dimension was proposed by the researchers.

„Es ist schon einmal so in der Geisteswissenschaft: Man kann nicht klipp und klar auf manche Fragen antworten, weil unsere Zeitgenossenschaft noch nicht so weit ist, die Wahrheiten im richtigen Stile aufzunehmen. Man muss manches andeuten. Wenn Sie nachlesen in den Vorträgen, die nicht lange vor dem Ausbruch dieser furchtbaren Weltkatastrophe in Wien gehalten worden sind, so werden Sie dort die Stelle finden von dem sozialen Karzinom,
von der sozialen Krebskrankheit, welche an der Menschheitsentwickelung frisst. Angedeutet werden sollte durch solche und viele ähnliche Dinge, was der Menschheitsentwickelung bevorsteht, und aufgefordert werden sollte durch solche Dinge zum Nachdenken. Denn dieses Nachdenken, das ist es, was uns einzig und allein in wirklichem Sinne wach machen kann. Und waches Leben, wir brauchen es, und die Menschheit braucht es. Und wenn

Sinneswelt vorhanden, das heißt denn doch in einem höheren Sinne schlafen. Vollständig wach ist die Menschheit nur dann, wenn sie auch Begriffe, Ideen entwickeln kann von jener geistigen Welt, die ja ebenso um uns herum ist wie Luft und Wasser, wie die Sterne, wie
die Sonne und der Mond. Und so wie man schläft, wenn man nur ganz hingegeben ist dem inneren Leibesprozess in der Nacht und keine Ahnung hat von dem, was ringsherum in der äußeren körperlichen Welt vorhanden ist, so schläft man auch, wenn man nur der äußeren Sinneswelt hingegeben ist und der Verstandeswelt und den Verstandesgesetzen, die in der äußeren Sinneswelt walten, und keine Ahnung hat von dem, was um einen herum ist als
geistige Welt.
Es ist merkwürdig, dass gerade in den letzten Jahrhunderten – und am ärgsten um die Wende des 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert – die Menschheit auf ihren geistigen Fortschritt, auf ihre wissenschaftlichen Errungenschaften so sehr pochte und dass im Grunde genommen niemals das unbewusste, instinktive Leben so ausgebreitet war wie in dieser Zeit, dass immer mehr und mehr gegen die Gegenwart herauf das instinktiv Unbewusste die Menschen ergriffen hat. Das Nicht-Sehen dessen, was geistig um uns herum ist, das Nicht-Rechnen mit diesem Geistigen, das ist ja im letzten Grunde die Ursache dieses furchtbaren Weltenkampfes. Und man kann nicht sagen, dass die Menschheit durch die Jahre, die sich, wie ich angedeutet habe, wie Jahrhunderte verlängern für den, der sie wachend durchlebt, man kann nicht sagen, dass die Menschheit schon hinreichend viel gelernt hat von dem, was in so furchtbarer Weise sich abgespielt hat. Man könnte leider sogar das Gegenteil davon sagen.
Was ist denn das eigentlich Charakteristische, das einem jetzt täglich, stündlich auffallen kann, wenn man verfolgt, was heute Menschen denken – besser gesagt, vorgeben zu denken, vorgeben zu wollen -, was ist denn das eigentlich Charakteristische? Das eigentlich Charakteristische ist, dass im Grunde genommen über die Welt hin niemand weiß, was er will, dass niemand darauf kommt, dass dasjenige, was man berechtigterweise wollen
könnte – gleichgültig, wie es sich in den einzelnen Köpfen der einzelnen Völker ausmalt -, viel besser erreicht würde, wenn man die furchtbaren, blutigen Ereignisse wegließe, dass diese furchtbaren, blutigen Ereignisse sich abspielen und dass sie eigentlich unnötig
sind, unnötig sind zu dem, was gewollt wird.
Allerdings, es walten in diesen Ereignissen geheimnisvolle Zusammenhänge. Aber wenn Sie manches nehmen, was, allerdings auch nur andeutungsweise, im Laufe der Jahre gerade in unseren geisteswissenschaftlichen Vorträgen gesagt worden ist, so werden Sie doch finden,
dass auch in Bezug auf dasjenige, das sich als Allerbedeutungsvollstes hereingestellt hat in die Ereignisse der letzten Jahre, manches recht klar angedeutet worden ist. Wenn Sie nur nehmen, was auch innerhalb dieser Räume, namentlich in den letzten Jahren, entwickelt
worden ist über den Charakter des russischen Volkes und über den Gegensatz dieses russischen Volkes zu den west- und mitteleuropäischen Völkern, dann werden Sie daraufkommen, dass Sie nichts anderes brauchen, als was hier gesagt worden ist, zum
Verständnisse desjenigen Ereignisses, das scheinbar so stürmisch in der letzten Zeit eingeschlagen hat, zum Verständnisse dessen, was man gewöhnlich die Russische Revolution jetzt nennt, dieses Ereignisses, das hereingebrochen ist wie eine Vergeltung, aber eine
innerlich durchaus absolut verständliche karmische Vergeltung, wobei man dieses Wort als Terminus technicus und gar nicht im moralischen Sinne zu nehmen hat. Es wird nicht nur die russische, es wird die europäische, wird die Menschheit der ganzen Welt lange, lange nachzudenken haben über die Ereignisse, die sich im Osten Europas viel geheimnisvoller jetzt abspielen, als man eigentlich denkt. Denn was Jahrhunderte lang sich
vorbereitet hat, das ist da an die Oberfläche getreten. Und das Neue, das sich gestalten will, es zeigt heute noch ein ganz anderes Gesicht als dasjenige, das sich entwickeln will, das sich herausgestalten will. Spätere Geschlechter werden noch die Möglichkeit
haben, den Unterschied zwischen Maja und Wirklichkeit anschaulich zu machen an dem, was sich in den nächsten Jahrzehnten im Osten von Europa gestalten wird. Denn die gegenwärtigen Geschlechter nehmen die Maja eben nicht als Maja hin, sondern als eine
Wirklichkeit. Sie nehmen das, was jetzt geschieht, hin als etwas, was schon dasjenige ist, was es werden will. Das ist nicht so. Da will etwas ganz anderes an die Oberfläche. Und schlecht sind die Westvölker gerüstet zu verstehen, was da an die Oberfläche will.
Warum sind sie so schlecht gerüstet? So sonderbar dies aussieht für den Menschen, nicht
für Sie, aber für den Normalmenschen der Gegenwart – Sie sind ja alle dadurch, dass Sie zur Anthroposophie gehören, nicht Normalmenschen der Gegenwart -, so sonderbar das für den Normalmenschen aussieht, mehr, unendlich viel mehr als irgendeine andere Zeit erfordert
diese gegenwärtige Zeit von den Menschen gerade dasjenige, was diese Menschen am allerwenigsten haben wollen: geisteswissenschaftliches Verständnis. So sonderbar es für den Normalmenschen der Gegenwart eben klingt: Ordnung wird aus dem Chaos der Gegenwart nicht, bevor eine genügend große Anzahl von Menschen sich bequemen wird, die geisteswissenschaftlichen Wahrheiten anzuerkennen. Das wird das weltgeschichtliche Karma sein.
Lassen Sie die Menschen reden, die da glauben, wir haben jetzt einen Krieg, wie frühere Kriege waren, und wir werden nächstens Frieden schließen, wie frühere Frieden geschlossen worden sind; lassen Sie das die Menschen glauben. Das sind die Menschen, die die Maja
lieben, das sind die Menschen, die die Wahrheit nicht von der Täuschung unterscheiden. Lassen Sie diese Menschen selbst einen Scheinfrieden vielleicht irgendwie schließen:
Ordnung wird aus diesem Chaos, das jetzt die Welt durchzieht, nur dann, wenn die Morgenröte einer geisteswissenschaftlichen Auffassung die Menschen ergreift. Und wenn Sie etwa in Ihrem Herzen empfinden sollten: Dann wird lange nicht Ordnung werden, dann wird es noch lange dauern – weil Sie vielleicht des Glaubens sind, die Menschen werden sich lange nicht bequemen, eine geisteswissenschaftliche Morgenröte heraufkommen zu lassen -, dann
werden Sie Recht haben. Dann glauben Sie aber nur auch, dass lange keine Ordnung werden wird aus diesem Chaos heraus, denn sie wird nicht früher werden, als bis eine geisteswissenschaftliche Auffassung die menschlichen Herzen durchdringt. Alles andere wird Schein sein, alles andere wird scheinbare Ruhe sein, unter der immer neue und neue Feuerflammen sich entzünden werden, denn Ordnung wird aus diesem Chaos erst entstehen,
wenn man begreifen wird, woraus dieses Chaos entstanden ist.
Es ist entstanden aus ungeistiger Erfassung der Wirklichkeit – ja, aus ungeistiger Erfassung der Wirklichkeit. Die geistige Welt ignoriert man nicht ungestraft. Man kann glauben, dass man die geistige Welt ungestraft ignorieren kann, man kann glauben, dass man sich in der Welt Begriffen, Vorstellungen hingeben kann, die bloß aus der Sinneswelt entnommen sind, man kann das glauben, und das ist ja der allgemeine Glaube der heutigen
Menschheit. Aber wahr ist es nicht. Nein! Der irrigste Glaube, den jemals die Menschheit hat hegen können, das ist der – wenn ich mich trivial ausdrücken darf -, dass die Geister es sich gefallen lassen, ignoriert zu werden. Fassen Sie es meinetwillen auf als einen
Egoismus, als eine Selbstsucht der Geister, aber in der geistigen Welt gilt eine andere Terminologie als hier in der sinnlich-physischen Welt. Also fassen Sie es meinetwillen auf als einen Egoismus der Geister, aber die Geister rächen sich, wenn sie ignoriert werden hier. Es ist ein Gesetz, es ist eine eherne Notwendigkeit: Die Geister rächen sich. Und unter den mancherlei Charakteristiken, die man geben kann für die Gegenwart, ist auch
diese richtig, dass man sagen kann: Die Rache der Geister dafür, dass man sie so lange ignoriert hat, das ist das gegenwärtige Menschheitschaos.
Erinnern Sie sich, wie oft ich hier und an andern Orten gesagt habe: Es ist ein geheimnisvoller Zusammenhang zwischen dem, was menschliches Bewusstsein ist, und den zerstörerischen Kräften des Weltenalls, gerade den Untergangskräften des Weltenalls. Ja, dieser geheimnisvolle Zusammenhang zwischen den zerstörerischen Kräften des Weltenalls und dem Bewusstsein, der besteht; er besteht so, dass das eine als Ersatz für das andere auf
der einen Seite dienen kann oder auf der andern Seite dienen muss in der folgenden Art.
Nehmen wir einmal an, ein Zeitalter wäre dagewesen, sagen wir in den letzten zwanzig oder dreißig Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts, in dem die Menschheit so nach Geistigem gestrebt hätte, wie sie in den letzten zwei bis drei Jahrzehnten des 19. Jahrhunderts nur nach materiellem Wissen und nach materiellen Taten gestrebt hat. Nehmen wir an, am Ende dieses 19. Jahrhunderts hätten die Menschen nach spirituellem Erleben, nach spirituellem Wissen, nach spirituellen Taten gestrebt. Was wäre das gewesen? Was wäre es gewesen, wenn die Menschen gesucht hätten, die geistige Welt zu erkennen und aus der geistigen Welt heraus der physischen Welt einen Charakter, eine Grundlage zu geben, statt dass in den letzten Jahrzehnten des 19. Jahrhunderts die Menschen nur instinktiv immer mehr und mehr nach demjenigen Wissen gejagt haben, welches zuletzt in der Ausgestaltung der Mordwerkzeuge seine größten Triumphe feierte und welches in der menschlichen Bereicherung mit rein materiellen Gütern aufging? Was wäre geschehen, wenn die Menschheit gestrebt hätte, spirituelles Wissen, spirituelle Impulse für das soziale Wirken zu gewinnen? Es wäre eine Abschlagszahlung gewesen für zerstörerische Kräfte! Die Menschen wären wacher gewesen, statt dass sie die letzten Jahrzehnte des 19. Jahrhunderts verschlafen haben. Die Menschen wären wacher gewesen, und die ersten Jahrzehnte des 20. Jahrhunderts hätten nicht die Zerstörung zu bringen brauchen, wenn das Bewusstsein stärker gewesen wäre. Das spirituelle Bewusstsein muss eben stärker sein als das rein sinnlich-materielle Bewusstsein. Wäre das
spirituelle Bewusstsein stärker gewesen in den letzten Jahrzehnten des 19. Jahrhunderts, so hätten nicht die zerstörerischen Kräfte einzugreifen brauchen in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Am intensivsten, am eindringlichsten – erkenntnistheoretisch -, aber, man möchte sagen auch am grausamsten gewahrt man das, wenn man Bekanntschaft macht mit manchen Toten, die in die geistige Welt eingezogen sind, sei es in den letzten Jahrzehnten des 19. Jahrhunderts, sei es in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 20. Jahrhunderts. Viele Seelen waren darunter, die hier auf diesem Erdenrund innerhalb des Hastens und Treibens und Strebens im

He was forced by his duties towards his kingdom to take the throne and marry and have a kid.
Even his wife was a very kind and beautiful soul who let her husband leave so he can achieve his goals because she knew what he desired from the very beginning of their relationship.
He never thought of his relationships to be a burden nor did he just abandon them. They were well taken care for.

You call motherhood a burden then it’s not for you. 1st of all I don’t even understand why anyone would willingly have a child and then regret it. Kids are not toys, they are real humans beings that you are responsible for as a parent.

Like Edgar Allen Poe’s „Purloined Letter,“ the Christian Goddess has always been right before our eyes, a little
shabby, more than a little mishandled, but there nevertheless. It’s taken years for us to notice her simple hiding
place—at the side of Christ where she was ever meant to be—but bit by bit, year by year, into one eye after
another, she shines brighter and brighter until even the Papacy cannot stop her spilling forth in all her Glory.
As taught by many early mystery religions, most especially the early Gnostics, Mary Magdalene was and is Isis, the
Alpha and the Omega. She is Sophia who is Wisdom who is Spirit who is the Divine Feminine who is Shakti who is God
manifest—she is the Goddess. As God is Source itself, the Goddess is the Emanation or the Play of God—in other
words, the Dance of Creation. The Goddess is the World.

Mariamne Magdal-eder was knowingly, or to be generous, perhaps unknowingly, taken from Gnostic teaching, as well as
the entire godman tradition of the dying and rising savior, and used by the early Church Fathers to suit their own
purposes—purposes which very much included the suppression of women. For countless years before the birth of
Christianity and for many years after, many women knew power in the competing mystery teachings that everywhere
surrounded the new and jealous „Fathers“ in their new and jealous church: Pythagoreans, Epicureans, Cynics,
Therapeauts, and most especially, Gnostics held women in equal regard.
But that power waned with the unceasing efforts of the new and very masculine Church as it rose to pre-eminence
over the hearts and minds of Western civilization. And with it waned the power and truth of the Magdalene.
The „story“ of the Magdalene is ancient. It was told by the early Gnostics, and before them the Egyptians, and
before them the Sumerians協or surely this story goes back to the dawn of human self-awareness. Like all great
stories, it asks eternal questions which are the very same questions we ask today. „Who are we?“ „Why are we here?“
„Where is here?“ „Why“ is here?“ And: „What happens to us when we die?“ These must have been the very first
questions asked by the very first humans gazing up at the ancient stars.
Every society on earth from the beginning to now has tried to answer these questions, and almost every society on
earth has come up with answers that then become cemented in a formal tradition.
The early Gnostics answered them in this way: before the Beginning of the World… The Egyptians called it the
„dazzling darkness“ or Absolute Mystery. Gnostics called it „All That Is.“ It was pure unmanifest Consciousness—and
it was aware.
But aware of what? What would a conscious No Thing which is No Where be conscious of? Plato said the first
principle (stemming from All That Is) is intellect whose only function can be to think, and the only possible
object of thought must be itself.
At some point, All That Is contemplated itself into a First Idea, named by some: „Logos.“ The First Idea is that it
knew itself by becoming both that which is known and that which knows, witness and experience. It became the One
Soul of the Universe that is conscious through all beings. And from this sprang the Many卪eaning the World and all
it contains. (Physicists still call this The Big Bang, because they are telling the same ancient story in their own
rationalist way.)
The evolving cosmology of preChristian Gnosticism taught that from All That Is (having neither gender nor being),
emanated pairs of Aeons, or paired lesser beings which are divine powers or natures emanating from Source to play
various roles in the operation of the universe. Together these Aeons made up the Pleroma, or „fullness of
Consciousness.“ The lowest and the last of these pairs in the hierarchy was Sophia, which is Greek for „Wisdom,“
and Christ, which is Greek for „Savior.“

Those who wrote the first gospels, both canonical and Gnostic, gave the name Yeshu (Jesus in Greek) to the Christ
Aeon and the name Mary Magdalene, or Mariamne Magdal-eder, to the Sophia Aeon.
Sophia was the original female principal, the Goddess. She came first and she came alone. And so soon as She
discovered Herself to be separated from Source, Sophia grew fearful and full of anguish. She felt she’d been
exiled. She was certain She was lost in this lower, lesser, place…a „copy“ of Pleroma. Plato thought this copy
benign, but the Gnostics thought it hellish. Wandering through the world of matter created by her own dreadful fear
and confusion, Sophia was subject to all the pain and horror the world of matter can and does supply…and all
those she met treated her shamefully—most especially males. She became in both meanings of the term, a „fallen
woman.“
Sophia was exiled for years beyond counting and during those years she endured tribulation after tribulation,
always longing to return to All That Is. Eventually, She grew so sorrowful that All That Is took pity on Her and
sent out her „other half,“ her Platonic Double, Her paired Aeon, so that she might once again „see the light.“ As
her paired Aeon and savior, Christ rescued her from the physical world. He gathered Her up into Gnosis (meaning
knowledge of the divine) so that she might „remember herself“ and return to her home in the „Pleroma.“

Sophia’s story is a tale of our mortal selves seemingly doomed to wander alone and lost through the world of
matter. We don’t know where we’re going. We don’t know why we’re here. We don’t even know who we really are. We are
frightened. We feel abandoned. We push ourselves even further into matter to escape the terrible feeling that we
have lost our Home. We do whatever we can to distract ourselves from this fundamental uncertainty.
But Sophia, who is Mary Magdalene, is the Goddess who not only created matter, she lived in it to show us we are
not alone in our suffering. And Christ, Her partner and equal, is Gnosis, who comes if we call. He comes so that we
know we are much more than we think we are, that we are, in fact, eternal and loved and filled with Spirit, and
that we can all go Home again.
It’s a beautiful story, a profound story—and it is completely misunderstood by those who „borrowed“ it from the
Gnostic teaching.
All Pagan godmen have a female Consort who resurrects Him from the grave. Osiris by Isis. Attis by Cybele. Tammuz
by Ishtar. Christ by Mary Magdalene. There is always a female divinity mourning a slain god and seeking his body
for anointing卆nd this part of the story is as old as human time. It’s very much a part of the myth of the Goddess
and speaks of the true worth of the feminine and her part in the dance of reality.
The Christians hid the Consort. They could not lose Her entirely because they themselves did not understand the
story they were trying to tell. But they degraded Her. They made her into a penitent, serving only to show us how
forgiving Jesus was. They took away Her divinity as they’ve tried to take it from us. By so doing, they have
unbalanced the entire world…because ideas about reality move the entire world.
To Gnostics, none of this is „true“ as in literally factual. Sophia’s story is a parable for the plight of the lost
human soul seeking Gnosis—or God consciousness. Sophia is the soul. Christ is that which enlightens the soul.
Mary Magdalene is the „Woman Who Knew the All.“ She is Sophia, symbolic of our quest for Christ / The Kingdom of
God / Gnosis / Enlightenment / HOME.

„If trees could talk, this bonsai would certainly have a lot of to say. Planted in 1625, it’s lived a lot of history in its nearly 400 years. Currently located at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., it was gifted to the United States by bonsai master Masaru Yamaki in 1976. Little did the Arboretum know that this diminutive plant held a special secret.
The Yamaki family had lived just two miles from where American forces dropped the atomic bomb in Hiroshima in 1945. This horrific event killed 140,000 people and left lasting effects on the city, but Yamaki, his family, and the bonsai—all of whom were indoors during the explosion—were left largely unharmed. Yamaki later donated the tree to the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum ahead of the American bicentennial, never uttering a word about its unique history.
The white pine’s connection to Hiroshima was only revealed in 2001, when Yamaki’s grandsons paid a surprise visit to the collection. And while the museum doesn’t advertise this piece of the bonsai’s history, preferring to emphasize it’s role as a gift of friendship between two nations, it has recently added information about its connection to Hiroshima to its website.
“There’s some connection with a living being that has survived on this earth through who knows what,” says Kathleen Emerson-Dell, assistant curator at the museum. “I’m in its presence, and it was in the presence of other people from long ago. It’s like touching history.”

There are many examples of how the knowledge of the Ancients can be lost.
Throughout history invasion and conquest have often occasioned the destruction of ancestral and indigenous knowledge. Egypt suffered a succession of invasions and annexations by the Persians, the Greeks and then the Romans, as the monotheistic religions became anchored to the powers of empire in the east and west, so it was that indigenous narratives and wisdom traditions became suppressed. The influence of writers like Socrates and Plato important writers whose own understanding had plumbed the sources of ancient Egypt was excised from the mainstream of Christianity. Church Fathers who had drawn on their wisdom found themselves sidelined and excommunicated. The hermetic texts, though
popular for a long time among early Christians, became regarded as subversive and dangerous, yet their influence continued to inform the thinking of mystics and scholars down the ages, writing in the fourth century BCE the Greek philosopher Plato openly stated that while many of his conclusions were reached purely by applying logic to things we can all observe, he had reached other significant conclusions, things he believed, but could not prove. The source of that information Plato said was ancestral memory, specifically the priestly knowledge of ancient Egypt, like Hermes in the dialogue with Asclepius, Plato was eager to keep what remained of ancient Egyptian wisdom alive. It’s in that context that Plato reports that he is concluded that there are other entities occupying our Universe, being similar to ourselves who reside on what he describes as islands in the sky and he said that these beings live longer than we do, they’re more highly intelligent than we are and their understanding of the universe and what we would call outer space is far more advanced than our own and though we said he couldn’t prove it Plato wanted to mark that knowledge on the wall, the notion of a more populated universe or of higher beings were ideas that Plato did not want to see forgotten. In the
1500s from Naples Italy another student of the hermetic texts emerged in the Dominican friar: Giordano Bruno. Bruno study of the hermetic texts
led him to some far-reaching conclusions as a Dominican friar Giordano Bruno was a devoted scholar and from his study of the hermetic texts: Bruno concluded just as Plato had done 2,000 years before that we are not alone in the universe that there are other entities populating the cosmos and the other planets in our Galaxy may be home to extraterrestrial civilizations. Well, unfortunately he fell foul of the Roman Catholic Church and in 1600 the Inquisition decided to send the world a signal that such conclusions had no place in Catholic Christianity and so they executed this poor Dominican friar Giordano Bruno and they made a public
show of it by burning him to death, in a public square, that’s a very forceful way of ensuring that ancient memory gets forgotten.
In the dialogue with Asclepius the character of Hermes laments the
forgetting of Egypt’s deities, these higher beings depicted in human-like and hybrid forms, by contrast in the Bible, the successive leaders Moses and Joshua instructed the people to forget the other higher beings, the Elohim, the powerful ones. In the Bible there’s a very deliberate kind of forgetting that we see written into the narrative, the Ten Commandments, famously begins with a command to serve no other Elohim, no other powerful ones, serve only Yahweh and then follows an instruction not to depict anything they’ve seen on earth or in the heavens, so don’t serve them, don’t bow down to them, don’t even depict them the memory of these other entities has to be excised absolutely and then in the Book of Joshua we’re told that Joshua who’s the successor to Moses calls upon the Hebrew people to never again serve the powerful ones of Abraham and Sarah’s ancestral culture and that’s the culture of the Sumerians. do not serve the powerful ones of your Sumerian heritage or the powerful ones of Egypt. Again there’s this forgetting being enforced, the memory of higher beings what the Sumerians indicated as sky people had to be written out of the story and similarly the Egyptian memory of higher beings had to be forgotten and that’s why Theodosius, seeing himself as a Christian Emperor in the vein of a Moses or a Joshua, illegalized these memories and banned the narratives that kept them alive. When Plato referred to the knowledge of higher beings, including these others who live on islands in the
sky, with all their advanced knowledge of the cosmos it’s interesting to me that he appeals on the one hand to information gathered through altered
states of consciousness and on the other to the lost cannon of ancient Egyptian memory, by citing that knowledge he makes it clear that the story of a more populous universe is one that Plato wanted remembered, he did not want that knowledge to remain buried and forgotten. The character Hermes laments the dying of a culture, he says darkness will be preferred to light and death will be thought more profitable than life, no one will raise their eyes to the heavens, good people, spiritual people, seekers of truth, will be considered insane. The vulgar and careless will be considered wise, the madman will be thought a strong man and the wicked held up as good, only those who bring evil messages will remain, they will mingle with humans and drive them into all manner of recklessness and crime into Wars an theft and frauds and all things hostile to the bodies and souls of human beings. If you think of the wars being prosecuted by the world’s powers even as we speak or think of government corruption the gravy trains the big bank bailouts, the theft and hoarding of wealth from the 99% by the 1% or consider the brutalization of our politics and the polarization and dumbing down that we’re seeing right now of public conversation, if you think about our veneration of wealth or how we gaze in adoration at the 1% and at the same time lower all our compassion towards the poor to refugees to anyone more needy or more desperate than ourselves can any of us look at these things in our world right now and not see that what Hermes forewarned is happening before our eyes.“

Deine Chakras sind die energetischen Zentren deines Lichtkörpers, deines spirituellen Körpers. According to the Vedas there are 7 types of relationships that we can experience in our lives. These 7 categories of relationships achieve a certain type of harmony between two people that correspond to our 7 chakra centers: your root center, sacral chakra, solar plexus, heart center, throat chakra, brow chakra (third eye center), and crown chakra.
Your chakras are the energetic centers of your lightbody, your spiritual body. Each chakra controls different areas of your life, and when you can balance and cleanse your chakras, you begin to balance and cleanse your life simultaneously. The state of your chakras can influence many aspects of your life, including marriages and romantic relationships – which is the topic of today’s blog post.
According to the Vedas, the chakra that is most active in your relationship determines your ambitions and goals within your relationship. So if your relationship is based from your root chakra, your understanding of family happiness in your marriage will be under the influence of the powers governed by your root chakra. The lower chakras (Root, sacral and solar plexus) tend to bring more opportunities for unhappiness, whereas the higher centers (Heart, throat, brow and crown) yield more opportunities for happiness. We can work our way through the chakra centers and achieve higher levels. When we can activate higher centers, the lower ones open beautifully and by themselves too.
This article is regarding these 7 energy centers, and the kinds of relationships that tend to emerge from these influences.
The Root Chakra Couple
The root chakra is connected to our primal instincts. It is greatly influenced by our sexual energy. I call it our ‘survival instinct chakra’ – because it’s sexual energy motivates us to have children and continue our lineage and because it motivates us to stay alive, and can keep us away from physical danger. The root chakra is also connected with selfishness and ego – two factors that are of utmost important to those who are motivated to survive. We use our selfishness to protect our needs, and we use our ego to protect our emotions.
The goal of the root chakra couple:
Sex.
The root chakra couple are motivated by their enjoyment of each other.
Where does the root chakra couple meet?
They usually meet in night clubs, bars, parties, or other places of entertainment. Of course there are relationships under the influence of higher chakras that may also meet at these locations, merely by happenstance, but the key differentiation here is that, there couples tend to go to these places IN ORDER TO FIND their future husband/wife. The women are usually attracted to how attractive or cool the man looks.
An overview of their relationship:
Root chakra couples are ruled by the planet mars, and tend to have an intense honeymoon period, and aspects of this can feel a lot like love to them. Of course with time, the honey moon period gradually fades, and then they are usually left with bitterness and disappointment. Aspects of the honeymoon period can feel a lot like love to them. The relationship tends to be very up and down, never quite finding the right balance. They experience dizzying highs and deep lows. Their relationship becomes riddled with contradictions like “I love you, I don’t love you anymore”, “Do this for me, and I will love you”, “I love you but I will also cheat on you”, “I love you, but might leave you”, “I am leaving you and you must come after me.” They become trapped within themselves. They either want to rush into marriage very quickly, or delay it completely and indefinitely. If they do get married, it’s usually because of a very strong emotional dependence on each other, and not love. They just want to be together.
The Sacral Chakra Couple
The Sacral chakra is the spiritual energy center connected to happiness, confidence and resourcefulness. It is also linked to the negative shades of greed, fear and self preservation. A couple that makes a connection through their sacral chakra, create a love that is based on a mutual desire for comfort and wealth. This chakra is influenced by the planet Venus. When this couple come together they first harmonize on the sacral level, and over time the root chakra may open up as well. This will result in the pleasures and also challenges of The Root Chakra couple also coming to play in the dynamic of their relationship. Their Sacral couple’s mutual desire for wealth and comfort appears to be more stable than the Root Chakra couple, but the Sacral chakra is still considered one of the lower energy centers – and so, it will continue to bring more opportunities for unhappiness, than it does for happiness.
Of course, it is not wrong to desire a comfortable life, or to want to have a beautiful and cozy home. The troubles arise when the couples make attaining this material success the main goal of their relationship – and that’s what the sacral couple tend to do.

The Solar Pelxus Couple
The solar plexus is the power center of our energy chakras located in our light body. The solar plexus is connected to our ambitions and goals. Material pleasures in life can be further divided into two forms: the heavy and the subtle. The heavy worldly material pleasures are things like beautiful things – houses, cars, objects. This is what the Sacral Chakra Couple aspires too. One step higher than this is the subtle form of wordily material pleasures – which is the search for fame, prestige, and power. This is what the Solar Plexus Couple aspires to. They want to get married for power and prestige. Many famous people have relationships based on the solar plexus center. This center is influenced by the sun, which has a masculine nature and encourages people under its influence to find their place in society.
In order to achieve harmony on this level, the couple has to work very hard on themselves in order to overcome their high expectations of the future. They must cultivate unselfishness and submissiveness in order to access the ability of changing their character. Without that, they will never be able to change who they are. When a person meets another with a similar desire, they create a family together. They work very hard together to attain their goals. If they remain focused, then eventually they will achieve the power and fame that they wished for. When they achieve this “honor” and prestige, the conflicts within their personal life will begin. The husband begins to feel more and more proud of what he has achieved in life. The wife, on the other hand, begins to feel more and more that without her – none of this would have even been possible in the first place. This begins to cause underlying resentment in the family.
The goal of the Solar Pelxus Couple:
Power, prestige and fame. To be respected in society.
Where the Solar Pelxus Couple meets:
Special invitation parties, elite societies and meetings, sports clubs, political events etc.
The Solar Plexus motivation:
People who want to create a family in order to achieve fame and prestige, usually exercise and practice their self control from a young age. They have a competitive nature. They may participate in sports or study how to concentrate better. They do what they can to be better than the ones around them. It comes very naturally to them. They naturally want to be leaders of their friends. They are interested in things like management, but they usually tend to be a little bit arrogant by nature and quickly categorize the people they meet in relation to them.
As you can see, people under the influence of the solar plexus do engage in self-development – but they focus on the darker aspect of it. In their search for fame and prestige, they lose the ability to cultivate humility. While they work on themselves to become superior to those around them, they simply learn how to control others and increase their pride. When a person becomes more and more powerful, their pride, intolerance, and anger also grow. So while they are engaging in some sort of self development through self control, they use it for lower level motivations.
The fate of the Solar Pelxus Couple:
The best thing for them to do as a couple would be to stop interfering in each other lives and instead focus on making themselves better people – but their ambitions and drive for success and perfection wont let them do that. They look to their partners to help them achieve their fame and success, and when it doesn’t happen as seamlessly as they want, they turn their attention onto changing their partner. However, they wont be able to do that either, and they will start getting frustrated. They can’t change people by simply preaching to someone all the time. They can’t change their partner by yelling at them. Nothing changes. So as time goes by, they begin to feel like they are just living with strangers. They start getting disappointed by everything. Only their mutual interest in maintaining outward appearances and their outward social status holds their relationship together.
The only way for the solar plexus couple to change their fate is by changing their beliefs about life – to understand that there are more important things to wish for than fame.
They must set their sights on spiritual goals rather than material goals – otherwise they will find that they will always be disappointed in their life.
The Heart Centered Couple
The Heart Centered Couple is the first chakra under the higher level energy centers – and therefore, is the first chakra to yield a “favorable relationship”. Thus, this couple will have more opportunities for happiness than opportunities for unhappiness. They usually have lasting marriages. These favorable relationships give both people the chance to cleanse their consciousness, to work through their karma, and to fulfill their dharma.
This type of couple are very interested in working on their character and self development. They wish happiness to those around them.. They tend to be involved in charity, volunteering and in someway assisting their community. They respect their elders and listen to their advice. They generally do not go through problems regarding understanding one another in their married life. Their problems generally arise through fate, and the obstacles that life brings their way. But they understand each other well and have a desire to make their partner happy. These marriages tend to be very stable, and the couple are blessed with lots of friends, and wealth comes easily and naturally to them – although they never feel the need to depend on that either. If they hare given wealth, they use it for universal goodness and happiness. And if they are not given wealth, they do not curse the universe for it either.
The goal of the heart centered couple:
Following moral principles together and uphold values in their family that provide peace and happiness.
This is a love that is based on the desire to bring happiness and peace to others, including their partners.
Where The Heart Centered Couple meet:
Places where they are around people pursuing similar interests – for example yoga classes, meditation centers etc. They tend to meet at communities that are striving for happiness.
The Heart Chakra Motivation
People guided by their heart center feel inclined to fill their hearts with optimism and joy. They wish wellbeing and goodness to those around them, and are naturally involved in helping people of the community through community service. They feel a duty to volunteer. They are raised to be generous people. They understand the importance of honesty and are usually respected and liked by people.
They are interested in choosing a good partner for themselves, and take the time to learn about relationships and prepare themselves for their commitments. The heart chakra center is under the influence of the moon, which brings peace. They do not want to bring harm to others, including to their partners. They want to make sure everything around them is in harmony and balance.
They are hard working and responsible, and spend their free time on activities that enhance their character and make them into better people. Heart centered women are calm women. They dress modestly and have respect for all people around them, specially their elders.
The heart chakra couple tend to ask people for advice when choosing their husband/wife.
The children of heart-centered parents listen to them. They tend to ask their parents for advice about life. They are also willing to listen to them. This is not found easily on the lower centers, because the lower centers do not allow the parents to cultivate humility. Without cultivating humility a parent cannot make the child listen to them, or to be completely open and trusting to their suggestions and advices.
This is not to say that children will never listen to parents from lower chakra center relationships. However, these children are more likely to follow their parents behaviors and learn from them and do as they do. They won’t care much to listen to what their parents have to say about it. However, if you want to be able to influence your children with your words, then you must have harmony on a higher chakra level.
The challenges of The Heart Centered Couple:
The heart centered couple does not usually encounter big problems in understanding each other, because they both hold the principle belief that they should bring joy to their partner, and not pain. So they try to avoid causing hurt to each other. By doing this, they naturally focus on understanding each other better too. Their marriage is usually stable and strong and have many good friends. Friends of the family wish them well and wish them happiness.
Of course, they are not immune to challenges and will face problems in areas of life as most people do, but the key thing about the heart centered couple is that overcoming these struggles strengthens their relationships, deepens their love and thickens their respect for one another.
Their main challenge will come in simply deepening their understanding of life and spiritual practice and cultivating an even more serious attitude towards perfecting themselves.
Another key challenge for the heart centered couple is that by behaving the way they do, they tend to naturally attract material wealth quickly, which encourages them to relax. There is the danger of arrogance and the increased desire to spend more money, which of course, leads to problems both inside and outside the relationship. They also begin to attract lots of friends and people who like to spend time with the couple. These friends spend a lot of time in the couples home because they have such a great energy there. The problem with this is that it encourages the couple to engage in idle talk, to discuss unimportant, unfavorable and unnecessary things all the time.
However, as time passes, as fate would have it, heart centered people generally tire of material wealth, get bored of it and naturally retreat away from it.
The Throat Chakra couple
Those motivated by the throat chakra (the ruling planet – mercury) are inclined to perfect their senses. They want to tune in their senses into the ethereal world. They practice meditation to have a higher level of senses. So that they can hear, feel, see, know and understand their messages from the universe. hey wish happiness to everyone they think about.
It is also important for throat centered couples to cultivate self control and honesty. They do not let their earthly emotions control their experience of life – instead they act from a higher place. By controlling their emotions and not acting on every egotistic and emotional impulse, they train themselves to access a greater and more profound understanding and connection with the truth. They act from here. They are very good at controlling their ego and their emotions. They do not waste time in unfavourable conversations, and they do not engage in self flattery or showing off. They are very humble people. They are determined in achieving their goal of refining their senses and controlling their emotions and ego. They like to spend time amongst highly spiritual thinkers and leaders. It is only at the throat level that a person can become a successful spiritual guru or leader to others. This is because – it is only at this level that a person has successfully purified their consciousness to an extent that they would not be passing on their own bad karma to their students. At this level, they would be practicing what they preach all the time. At this level they would begin to experience true psychic knowledge.
The throat chakra couple are a rare couple to come across. They tend to be very talented people. They tend to “feel” the world with their senses rather than live through it. Because of this deeply intuitive approach to the world, they live in deep harmony with their world. They tend to be naturally poetic with their words. They understand the power of sound and the power of words, so they choose them carefully and beautifully. Because they develop their senses so much, and try to tune it into the subtle nature of the universe and it’s energetic voice, they also simultaneously develop their taste in the arts. They have a well refined musical, artistic and poetic taste. They are able to perceive beauty and delicacy in every day things. They know what matter that is perceived by their senses is good for their soul. These people tend to have a very mystical and magical marriage together. They understand each other deeply and completely. They can always relate to each other and feel deep empathy towards one another. They feeleach other, even from far away distances. They communicate with their thoughts and feelings rather than words; if one thinks of something, the other one has a sense of it already. Their marriage will last many lives, and they have certainly been together in previous lives too. They both have very good karma that they will work through together. the 1991 apocalyptic sci-fi film Until the End of the World, director Wim Wenders creates a vision of the future that, in a few ways, manages to mirror aspects of life in 2019. In the film, a virtual reality (VR) headset-like device is developed that gives blind people a form of sight. But as the film goes on, the device is transformed into a tool that records dreams, and a darker side of humanity comes to light: People become addicted to their subconscious storylines, spending all their time sleeping and waking only to watch their dreams.
The device looks nearly identical to an Oculus headset, but there are more similarities between our current reality and Wenders‘ 30-year-old fantasy than that alone. Today, a team of researchers from universities across the country is working on a project dedicated to figuring out how to recreate our nighttime lives on the screen. And like Until the End of the World, it’s unclear what this technology might be used for.
The as-of-yet-unnamed project is the brainchild of independent dream researcher Daniel Oldis and represents a continuation of a question he and others in his field began exploring decades ago: Are dreams learning experiences, and can behaviors in waking life be influenced by what people dream about? Oldis and others concluded that the answer must be yes based on one key point: When people dream, their bodies move and react.
„Your eyes, the muscles in your body, it’s just like you’re awake. You’re responding to the dream story,“ Oldis says. „Like in waking life, the body is learning from different experiences. We learn from dreams, and it affects our personality.“
The debate over whether dreams have meaning is a contentious topic among psychologists and neurologists and has been for decades. While some experts believe that dreams are simply the result of neurons in the brain firing at random, other researchers believe that dreams hold deep meaning for our lives and are even linked to our overall health. There’s some evidence to back up the argument. Studies have found that dreaming helps us process emotions, turn our short-term memories to long-term ones, and potentially ward off depression.
In the tradition of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, some psychologists today still use dreams in therapy to help people better understand themselves and their psyches. Rubin Naiman, PhD, is one such psychologist. A sleep and dream expert with the University of Arizona’s Center for Integrative Medicine, Naiman not only advocates for the power of dreams but also believes society is in the midst of an „epidemic of dream loss,“ spurred on by the collective brush-off our culture has given to these nightly visions.
„We are so dismissive about dreams,“ he says. „It’s a huge issue. It’s kind of like pretending the moon doesn’t exist.“
In the 1970s, Oldis was involved in early dream research that focused on whether dreams had an effect on our waking lives. It was at this time when researchers discovered that people bodies move while they dream. While this was important information, it became newly relevant to Oldis in 2014, when he read about researchers in Japan who were capturing images from dreams using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). That got him thinking: Why not also record their movements? And while you’re at it, why not speech as well?
„If you put that all together, what you have is a movie,“ Oldis says.
That became his new research question: Can dreams be turned into watchable movies? This led Oldis to partner with the University of Texas at Austin’s Cognitive Neuroscience Lab in 2017 to track the motor behavior of a dreamer. By using an electromyogram (EGM) to measure nerve impulses to the muscles, the researchers successfully recorded the movements of a subject’s dreams, which Oldis turned into a walking avatar that he presented at the International Association for the Study of Dreams in 2017?—?the first step to making a dream movie.
„This is like the early years of the space race,“ he says. „But in this case, we’re going into the dream space.“
Oldis has also done some early work around recording dream speech. By attaching electrodes to a sleeper’s speech muscles, he was able to pick up some elements of their dream dialogues, though full sentences and meanings could not be deciphered. He plans to run another experiment at the University of Texas at Austin this fall that he hopes will result in complete speech readings.
In addition to conducting those experiments, Oldis has compiled a team of nearly two dozen dream researchers, neurobiologists, sleep scientists, and psychologists (which he calls „the dream team“) from academic institutions and organizations across the country?—?including the UCLA School of Medicine, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and more?—?to put all the components together and create the first dream movie. Next summer, the team will take over a recording studio in Burbank, California. They’ll bring in a mobile MRI and attempt to record the movement, speech, and images from the full dreams of three or four sleeping subjects.
It’s unclear as of now whether this will be possible, and there’s a lot of work left to be done before it is. The biggest challenge Oldis faces is recording images. Though he hasn’t run an experiment to capture what the dreamer is seeing, a team at Kyoto University has. Led by neuroscientist Yukiyasu Kamitani, the researchers found that through the use of fMRI, „deep images“ can be reconstructed from a waking person’s mind?—?when they think of an owl, for example, the vague shape of an owl can be seen.
The way it works is that the team built a computer proxy for the brain, a deep neural network (DNN) that can pull information from different levels of the brain’s visual system, from the simple visual of light all the way to more complex visuals like faces. From there, the DNN essentially reconstructs these layers to recreate images from the brain. Eventually, Kamitani wants to use his research to record the images of dreams.
Oldis‘ dream team is not working with Kamitani, but next summer, they plan to use a similar method to reconstruct the visions of a lucid dream, or one in which the dreamer is in control and aware that they are dreaming. This will allow Oldis to tell the dreamer what to dream and test whether the movement, speech, and images he manages to record match up with the actual dream.
Of course, everything Oldis has done and plans to do thus far is a test to see if it’s possible to record our dreams. The other piece of the puzzle is why?—?and what might be gained from this kind of technology?
„Like the moon, it’s there. So you gotta try,“ he says. „As Kennedy would say, ‘We’re going to get to the dream in this decade not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.‘ And hopefully it’s of value.“
Not everyone thinks it is. Naiman has been recruited to join Oldis‘ dream team in order to play what Oldis calls the devil’s advocate role—or, as Naiman puts it, the angel’s advocate.
„There’s something demonic in what he’s doing,“ Naiman says. „I don’t mean that literally?—?I respect what he’s doing… But the downside to it is there are so many attempts to represent the dream in waking life rather than to enter the dream directly. The way we approach dreaming is we pull the fish out of water. But eventually we want to learn to breathe underwater, don’t we?“
At the same time, Naiman laments the sidelining of dreams in our culture and says anything that brings attention to them could be useful, a sentiment echoed by fellow dream researcher and psychologist Deirdre Barrett, PhD, of Harvard Medical School.
„The benefit I see is a new way of seeing dreams,“ she says. „And seeing dreams as some piece of our objective brain content could add something to the information we have on them.“
If Oldis‘ vision of accurately recreating a full dream as a digital recording comes to fruition, Barrett also says there could be some therapeutic function. Because some people don’t remember their dreams or remember only bits and pieces, being able to play them back in full could add important insight into a patient’s state of mind. But, she says, this is all hugely speculative. After all, the recordings would have to be extremely accurate to capture more than just the basic movement and speech of a dream, and psychologists who work with dreams are more focused on the emotional content than the physical.
„None of these groups are trying to make emotional data a part of it, and there’s not an obvious visual or auditory representation of that,“ Barrett says. „And yet, as we know from our own dreams, what we’re feeling in them is a hugely important part. The emotions are a lot of what we’re talking about when we’re talking about our dreams.“
Oldis‘ project is still at the beginning stages. It could be 10 to 20 years before there’s technology that can record a full dream movie, he says, let alone a way to capture dreams from the comfort of people’s homes. Until then, it’s unknown what dreams may come?—?or what scientists might do with them when they do.“
